Frequently Asked questions

What's the largest party size we can book for?

The Max’s Shack outside can host up to 30 guests standing, whilst inside the Moriarty Table can host 20 guests standing.

What time do you serve until and what time do you close?

The bar stops serving at 11pm, whilst the pub closes at 11.30 allowing plenty of time to finish those last pints and cocktails.

Do you have a late license? If not, is there an opportunity to stay open later for my booking?

Our licence only allows us to serve until 11pm, so we’re afraid not.

Is there a TV screen in this area?

If you’re looking to cheer on your team and watch the sporting action, the Max’s Shack has its own small TV. You can’t plug external devices in though.

Is there a minimum spend?

We simply ask to pre-order £300 of food and drink packages to secure the Moriarty Table, and £600 to secure the Max’s Shack.

How can I secure my booking?

Easy peasy!

We ask for the pre-order value to be paid as a deposit to secure your booking, then just let us know what packages and food options you’d like on the day or night.

The deposit is fully refundable up to 14 days prior to the booking. After then it becomes non refundable, unless we can re-sell the space, which we’ll always endeavour to do.

Are under 18's allowed?

OF course. We simply ask that they’re accompanied by an adult.

Will we have team members serving our party?

Our friendly team will serve your pre ordered items on the day or night. Then you can either order at the bar or via our user friendly app and we’ll bring them over to you.

Will you provide decorations/can we decorate ourselves?

We don’t provide decorations but you are more than welcome to bring your own. We just ask not to stick anything to the walls.

Do you have parking?

We don’t but there’s parking on the surrounding roads. Plus we’re a hop, skip and a jump (or two) away from both Clapham North and Clapham South, Northern Line tube stations.

Another visit to this lovely hotel

Our third visit to this lovely boutique hotel to visit our son and daughter in law who live in the area. We had a lovely relaxing weekend despite the soaring heat thanks to the air conditioning. Lovely, comfortable, well equipped and stylish room. There is absolutely no noise from the pub despite live music and a very busy summer weekend. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The on site car park has always had spaces when we have visited and there is plenty of free weekend parking all around the area.Monica in the dining room looked after us very well at breakfast as always and even recognised our son and daughter in law who came to join us for breakfast and arrived before us. Thank you again! We will be back!!

What a great little hotel in a beautiful part of London— somehow keeps a lovely little town and hotel feel. Service was excellent, the atmosphere great— very quaint— and the rooms and comfort exceptional.

Great British Pub

We visited this rare example of how a British pub should be. Well located in Clapham South near the Common and it has several offerings that would cater to most visitors.

Besides great bars, it has excellent dining areas and a large outside area for visitors to enjoy the summer days. I understand that it also has a number of well presented rooms for those who may wish to stay there.

Very good staff across the hotel provided great service and we were very satisfied with our meals and drinks. Very relaxing environment for a couple of hours of enjoying each other’s company. Recommended.

Such a nice pub. Great atmosphere, lovely beer garden and the food/beers are great. Best thing about the place is the staff though – great service and really friendly and accommodating dogs. Highly recommended.
